Overview:
Several exceptionally talented Developers are needed with deep hands on experience in building “real –time” transaction processing oriented systems. We do not require financial services expertise. What is required is the ability to develop server side, Unix (linux) based real-time distributed systems. Knowledge of C/C++ or Java (core), real time distributed multithreaded Linux based systems, socket and shared memory based communication APIs, TCP/IP, low latency high frequency etc…
Responsibilities:
Successful candidates will participate in the design and development of a large and complex distributed front office equities trading system. This type of development is very specialized, and requires intimate understanding in solving problems that come with the territory. Please be prepared to discuss any relevant projects you have been involved with, which would help make a significant contribution to the team.

These positions are being seriously considered, and the teams are actively interviewing. We will consider mid to senior level candidates who are able to demonstrate their depth of knowledge in this very specialized type of development. There are several projects that are interconnected and have been in various stages of development for 2-4 years. Therefore it should be understood that there are many individuals working on these projects, many of which are considered to be at the top of their specialty and well known to their peers inside and outside of the organization. To that point, what is needed are more individuals to contribute to the sheer workload, not to be confused with simply adding developers to work on small portions of the larger system, where in that case a more general set of skills would suffice. With this in mind, it is being suggested to all who apply, to add a (brief) cover letter or adendum which simply states why you should be strongly considered to work as part of this effort, only if you are certain that you have the background and skills necessary to come in and contribute while learning what is what etc... Anyone who has worked on what has been briefly described here, knows immediately what is being done (to a certain degree) and what`s needed. If you have aquestion about it, feel free to write in order to clarify, and then add a paragraph or two telling us why you should be considered.
Trade Support Specialit details:
This position requires a technical support individual to work for a high profile trading system at a top investment bank. You will ensure the Linux based application is running flawlessly with proper monitoring, test business continuity and document support processes. The candidate will work with both business and product engineering teams in improving the product from an IT perspective, including recommendations of new hardware and product design. Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues related to servers, software, and networks is required, along with the ability to write tools ensuring future problems are caught in time by the junior level support personnel.
Requirements:
• Solid scripting/programming skills e.g PERL/C/shell/Web
• Basic SQL required, with database knowledge a plus
• Linux required with RHEL desired. Should understand performance metrics and have some knowledge of OS internals.
• Documentation skills, along with ability to communicate with both business users and engineers is essential
• Knowledge of networking protocols and software design
• 5-8+ years experience
